Describing people, places and routines

Describe a person, place or routine in connected sentences.

Original Kidemy beginner self-study unit · Learn the idea, try the practical activity and review your written answers. Practise spoken delivery with a teacher or proficient listener. Teacher-led course approval and booking are separate.

Learn the idea

Choose details that help your listener picture the topic. Use adjectives for features and simple present verbs for a routine. Avoid a long unconnected list; keep the same person or place across your sentences.

Worked example

My imaginary friend is kind. She reads in a quiet corner. Every afternoon, she draws in her notebook.

  1. Name the topic first, then add a feature or action.
  2. Use she reads and he draws for one person in the simple present.
  3. Use a time phrase such as every afternoon for a routine.
