Tajwid foundations with a qualified teacher

Begin tajwid through letter qualities, vowel length and qualified feedback.

Original Kidemy beginner self-study unit · Learn the idea, try the practical activity and review your written answers. A qualified Quran teacher must review your reading and recitation. Teacher-led course approval and booking are separate.

Learn the idea

Tajwid concerns giving letters their proper articulation and qualities when reciting. A long vowel and a short vowel are not interchangeable. A teacher introduces natural madd with a steady count before teaching the different rules; one fixed length must not be applied to every madd or every pause.

Worked example

Compare the drill patterns بَ and بَا with a teacher. The second has alif after fathah, producing a long ā. In beginner teaching, natural madd is introduced as two counts at the recitation’s steady pace.

  1. Hear the short and long patterns separately.
  2. Follow the teacher’s consistent pace rather than a stopwatch.
  3. Ask which rule applies to the actual word before choosing a length.

Read and compare

Roman and Bangla guides are approximate aids. A qualified teacher should demonstrate the Arabic sounds and review your reading.

بَ

বা — ছোট স্বর
