Introducing yourself and asking questions

Introduce yourself and ask a partner a relevant question.

Original Kidemy beginner self-study unit · Learn the idea, try the practical activity and review your written answers. Practise spoken delivery with a teacher or proficient listener. Teacher-led course approval and booking are separate.

Learn the idea

A conversation has turns. Start with a greeting, say a preferred name, then ask one question. You can use a fictional name for practice; never share your address, password or private phone number in a public introduction.

Worked example

A: Hello, my name is Mina. What is your name? B: I am Rafi. Nice to meet you.

  1. Use I am or My name is before your preferred name.
  2. Ask What is your name? and wait for a reply.
  3. Rehearse with a guardian or teacher; a typed answer cannot check your pronunciation.
