Grammar, sentence structure and editing

Use cohesive links and information structure to guide a complex argument.

Original Kidemy Class 12 progression. This level has its own text, examples and questions. Curriculum versions share the progression; complete board-specific coverage still needs specification matching and additional material.

Learn the idea

Cohesion helps readers follow connections; coherence is the argument’s overall sense. A connector must express the relationship actually supported. Fronting can emphasise a contrast, while excessive nominalisation may hide causal responsibility.

Worked example

“The trial was small. Nevertheless, it identified a practical problem.” Nevertheless signals that the problem was informative despite a limitation; therefore would claim a different logical relationship.

  1. Read the text and identify the purpose.
  2. Support your answer with a specific detail.
  3. Revise meaning, structure and accuracy.
