Class 11 · Bangla Version · English

Vocabulary and language in context

Distinguish epistemic caution, evaluation and evidence in vocabulary.

Original Kidemy Class 11 progression. This level has its own text, examples and questions. Curriculum versions share the progression; complete board-specific coverage still needs specification matching and additional material.

Learn the idea

Epistemic language signals how strongly a claim is presented: may suggests possibility; demonstrates generally makes a stronger claim. Evaluative words signal judgement. Neither replaces evidence; the chosen verb should match the study design and outcome.

Worked example

“The survey suggests an association” is weaker than “The survey proves a cause”. A survey’s relationship may have alternative explanations.

  1. Read the text and identify the purpose.
  2. Support your answer with a specific detail.
  3. Revise meaning, structure and accuracy.
