Everyday vocabulary

Use a small set of everyday Arabic nouns accurately.

Original Kidemy beginner self-study unit · Learn the idea, try the practical activity and review your written answers. Practise spoken delivery with a teacher or proficient listener. Teacher-led course approval and booking are separate.

Learn the idea

Connect each new word with an object or a meaning. Read it, cover it, write it and check the letters. Arabic vowel marks may be omitted in everyday print, so a beginner needs a model reading rather than guessing every vowel.

Worked example

كتاب means book, قلم means pen and ماء means water. A picture can help you remember a word, but it does not replace checking its letters.

  1. Learn a word with its meaning and a model reading.
  2. Cover the model before recalling the word.
  3. Check the complete word after writing.

Read and compare

Roman and Bangla guides are approximate aids. A qualified teacher should demonstrate the Arabic sounds and review your reading.
