Editing and responding to feedback

Edit meaning, grammar, spelling and punctuation in separate passes.

Original Kidemy beginner self-study unit · Learn the idea, try the practical activity and review your written answers. Practise spoken delivery with a teacher or proficient listener. Teacher-led course approval and booking are separate.

Learn the idea

Revision improves an idea; proofreading checks how it is written. Read once for sense and order, once for sentence grammar and once for spelling and punctuation. A changed answer should be checked again.

Worked example

“we was at the libary” becomes “We were at the library.” Changes: capital W, plural verb were, library spelling and a full stop.

  1. Check whether the reader can follow the idea.
  2. Check agreement and time.
  3. Check letters, capitals and punctuation last.
