Humanities, general knowledge and reasoning where required
Use source evaluation and logical reasoning in a humanities response.
Original Model Test for Exam unit. These questions and suggested practice times are independent Kidemy material, not an official or past paper. Choose modules for the target programme; all listed subjects are not required for every applicant.
A source has an author, date, purpose and context. A primary source can still be partial or mistaken; primary means direct to the event or evidence, not automatically true. In an argument, distinguish a conclusion, a premise and a missing assumption.
Worked example
A fictional town report says attendance rose after a new bus route. That sequence alone does not prove the route caused the rise: school hours or enrolment may also have changed.
Identify source and purpose.
Separate observation from causal claim.
Ask what alternative evidence would discriminate.
