Grammar, sentence structure and editing

Use passive voice and conditional clauses without changing time.

Original Kidemy Class 8 progression. This level has its own text, examples and questions. Curriculum versions share the progression; complete board-specific coverage still needs specification matching and additional material.

Learn the idea

Passive voice puts the receiver of an action in subject position. Tense is carried by the auxiliary. A conditional separates a condition from its consequence; changes between will and would can change the hypothetical meaning.

Worked example

The team repaired the shelf. → The shelf was repaired by the team. If the library opens, we will meet there; if it opened earlier, we would meet there.

  1. Read the text and identify the purpose.
  2. Support your answer with a specific detail.
  3. Revise meaning, structure and accuracy.
