Learn the idea

Inference answers need a clue and a reasoned explanation. A synonym must fit the sentence, not merely appear in a memorised pair. In a summary, retain the main events and remove minor details without inventing a conclusion.

Worked example

Noor kept a notebook of birds seen from her balcony. On rainy days she saw fewer birds, but she wrote “not seen” rather than “gone”. She knew that shelter and visibility could change what she observed.

  1. Find the observation.
  2. Distinguish absence from not being observed.
  3. Use context to choose words and explanations.
