Model Test for Exam · optional written papers
Written-answer method: Read the whole question → plan one clear answer → write a full sentence or show the Maths steps → check spelling, punctuation and units.
Chapter questions name their source: a Class 2 textbook or original practice aligned to a Cambridge or Pearson curriculum map. The school confirms Bangla, English and Mathematics at Class 2 standard, seen and unseen, for 1.5 hours. The model tests and sample-format workshops are original Kidemy practice, not school papers or an announced mark split. A different valid written answer may need a guardian to review.
For guardians: books, curriculum and extra practice
The written paper samples the syllabus. Read every chapter in the Kidemy School bookshelf; these games give additional practice. Cambridge Stage 2, Pearson Edexcel Year 2 and harder coaching-sample formats are available as extra preparation. Each international chapter now has short written questions as well as matching facts. Longer writing, speaking, handwriting, drawing and real measurement need a guardian to check. Pearson's public overview names the Year 2 strands but does not publish every detailed Year 2 objective, so the checklist is a practice map rather than a guarantee of complete Pearson coverage.
Small missions → thoughtful writing → full rehearsal
Your written-exam route
One useful next step
Daily routine: 5 minutes recall → 15 minutes one weak skill → 15 minutes unseen written work → 10 minutes handwriting and corrections. Take two 5-minute breaks between blocks: 45 minutes learning, about 55 minutes elapsed. A full test replaces this routine that day.
Four-week plan for guardians
- Week 1 · Find the gaps. Take the Bangla, English and Maths 30-minute diagnostics on separate days. Then use the three sample-format workshops for question types that caused trouble. Keep the handwritten pages. Sort mistakes into knowledge, misreading, calculation, spelling/punctuation or unfinished work. Re-teach two priorities at a time.
- Week 2 · Apply the learning. Work through new passages, sentence editing and two-step sums. Take Applied Sets 1 and 2 on separate days, with practice and recovery days between them.
- Week 3 · Explain and check. Take Applied Set 3. Require a clue for reading answers, a number sentence and unit for Maths, and a reason in written explanations. Review mistakes after two days, then again about a week later using fresh examples.
- Week 4 · Rehearse calmly. Take Applied Sets 4 and 5 early enough to review them. Practise starting independently, moving past a stuck question and checking the paper. Keep the last two days light; use familiar corrections and normal sleep.
Use at most two full rehearsals in a week, separated by practice days. Shorten practice if fatigue makes work careless. These are adjustable coaching choices, not school requirements. Do not tell a child he must beat thousands of other children.
What we are preparing for—and what remains uncertain
The supplied school notice specifies Class 2 standard, seen and unseen Bangla, English and Mathematics, over 90 minutes. It does not give a question blueprint or mark split. We cannot infer harder syllabus content from the number of applicants. Original applied sets combine familiar skills with new contexts; international number and measure work is included as preparation, not an official St. Joseph requirement. Division and fractions are labelled optional extensions.
A fair selection-paper design could test: accurate basics, close reading, applying familiar ideas in a new situation, showing a method, and communicating clearly. This is our coaching judgment, not inside information from the school. We use a range of demand: Secure, Apply and Reason. They are teaching labels, not measured difficulty ratings.
Bangla rotation: every textbook chapter and poem; meaning and sentences; conjuncts, কার, রেফ and ফলা; spelling and correction; synonyms/opposites; gender and number; parts of speech; tense and সাধু–চলিত; word/phrase/sentence, sentence types and compaction; one-word expressions and proverbs; punctuation; seen/unseen reading, translation and original writing.
English rotation: every unit; phonics, spelling, correction and word families; nouns, pronouns, adjectives, adverbs and verbs; tense/agreement; articles, prepositions and conjunctions; singular/plural, gender, synonyms/opposites, prefixes/suffixes and possessives; subject/predicate, phrases, sentence order and combining; punctuation; seen/unseen reading, evidence, inference, instructions, translation and composition.
Maths rotation: number names, place value, order and patterns; addition/subtraction with regrouping and missing numbers; tables and equal groups; money; length, mass and capacity; clock/calendar/duration; flat/solid shapes and data; mixed word problems, estimation and checking. Use the Maths Workshop for visual multiplication, division and fractions; keep extensions separate from secure national-book skills.
A test samples these topics; no single test covers every item. Use the book chapters and subject games for the full practice rotation. Neither a high score nor this plan guarantees admission.

Three diagnostics · five foundation sets · five applied sets
Written test series
Start with the three 30-minute subject tests. Foundation papers rehearse short answers. Applied papers add unfamiliar problems and two handwritten compositions within 90 minutes. Each family has five sets. Retakes keep your best result; scores from different families are not directly comparable.
Every answer is written. The software marks listed key matches automatically. A guardian can accept another valid written answer after checking it. Compositions, handwritten workings and other equivalent answers need human review.
Original written rehearsal
Model test
For a realistic rehearsal, print and write by hand; enter the short answers afterwards. Press Finish when writing time ends to record the time, then use “Enter answers from paper” for marking. The software checks typed short answers; compositions and handwritten workings need a guardian. Time never removes progress or coins.
Challenge complete
The result separates automatic key matches from answers accepted by family. Other written answers wait for review. It is practice feedback, not an admission prediction; a guardian checks compositions and workings.
